How to Use One Shot Drain Cleaner
The original and best drain cleaner, trusted across the UK for over 43 years. Here's how to use it safely and get a fast result.
You MUST wear protective gloves and glasses before opening the bottle. One Shot is a professional, corrosive product — trade customers only. Keep the area ventilated, never mix it with other products, and always pour it into the drain.
Step by step
- Using a cup, remove as much water as possible from the drain, sink or toilet to be treated.
- Very slowly pour One Shot directly into the drain.
- Sink drains: use about 125ml initially. Allow to stand for 5 minutes.
- Add 150ml of cold water, allow to stand for a further 5 minutes, then flush through.
- Repeat if necessary for stubborn blockages.
- Toilet and floor drains: use about 250ml and follow the same directions.
Preventative maintenance
Used regularly, One Shot keeps drains flowing and saves expensive call-outs. Add around 100ml per month to each drain — for best results, use early in the morning when the drain won't be used for a few hours.
What you can and can't use it on
- Septic tanks: yes, One Shot can be used.
- Macerators / Saniflo systems: no — do not use One Shot on these.
